A LITTLE HELP GETTING STARTED

Back to
your next step.

A few practical checks for installing, updating, and working with Weenoko.

1. Start with the current installer

Use the Windows x64 installer from the public release page linked below. Check the version and release notes, then follow the installer. The current preview is designed for immediate access without signing in or adding a personal API key.

The installer is unsigned. If Windows displays an unrecognized-app warning, check that the download came from the linked Weenoko release. Do not disable your system’s security protections as a troubleshooting step.

2. If AI is unavailable

Check your internet connection and read the message in the app. An exhausted preview allowance, a temporary service problem, and a connection problem are different conditions.

  • Allowance reached: new AI requests pause until the limit resets or access becomes available. Repeated retries do not increase the allowance.
  • Connection problem: confirm you can reach the internet, then try again when connected.
  • Service unavailable: give the provider or service time to recover, then retry the task.

Your existing local work is not a subscription to cloud storage. An unavailable AI service does not move or erase your saved files.

3. Check for an update

Open the app’s About panel to check the current version and available updates. A new release downloads before the main Update action appears. When it is ready, choose Update to restart and install it.

If you are using an older release without in-app updates, install the latest version from the public download page.

4. Find local diagnostics

If a problem keeps happening, note the app version, what you were doing, the exact error message, and the time it occurred. That is often more useful than a large collection of files.

  1. Open the app’s Local data menu, whose tooltip mentions diagnostics, backup, restore, and recovery.
  2. Choose Open diagnostics… to open the local folder in File Explorer.
  3. Review any file before sharing it. Remove secrets and personal details from a copy, and share only what is needed.

This action opens local files; it does not automatically upload a report. Export backup… is a separate action for preserving your work and is not a diagnostic export.

5. Keep a copy of important work

Use Local data → Export backup… to save a local bundle where you choose. Keep backups in a location you control. Review the app’s restore information before replacing local data from a backup.
